Holy Family Daycare Covid-19 Guidelines

(Based on CDC, Wisconsin Early Childhood Association & Racine Health Department)

Guidelines for Parents:

1.     Keep your child at home if sick with any illness.

2.     Facial mask is required at all times while on school premises (drop off & pick up time). Click on the following link for more info:

3.     If possible, same parent of designated person should drop off and pick up the child every day. Older people such as grandparents with serious underlying medical conditions, or pregnant women should not pick up or drop-off children.

4.     Child’s temperature will be screened upon arrival. Children and persons with a fever of 100.4 F (38 C) will not be allowed to enter the school.

5.     Please drop off and pick up your child without entering the classroom. Enter the school premises from the playground. Find your child’s classroom door, knock at the door and wait for the staff member to open the door. Before your child enters the classroom (drop off time), staff member will screen your child: check temperature, make a visual inspection for signs of illness (flushed cheeks, rapid breathing, fatigue or extreme fussiness) and ask if fever reducers were used. This extends the drop-off process, please be patient with us. After screening a teacher will be taking your child inside. To avoid potential spread of Covid-19 through contact with daily attendance sheets, staff members of each classroom will do signing in & out for your child.

6.     Please inform the lead teacher about the drop off and pick up time of your child so she can anticipate your coming.

7.     Wait your turn if there is more than one parent dropping off or picking up the child (playground side). Always maintain social distance (6 feet apart).

8.     If your child shows signs of illness during care (for example fever), you or another authorized person will retrieve your child within 60 minutes. Fever reducers will not be given to your child on any day of attendance, regardless of reason for fever reducer.

9.     Continue to avoid close contact with people who are sick. Maintain social distancing (6 feet apart from each other).

10.  If you wish your child to wear face mask while at daycare, you can do so. Please have your child put a mask on upon arrival. Mask should NOT be put on babies and children under age two (danger of suffocation). Put on a face mask upon arrival.

11.  Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

12.  Do not bring unnecessary items into the program. This includes the storing of car seats and strollers.

13.  Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this difficult time of pandemic. We appreciate your willingness to cooperate with us to provide safe and healthy environment for your children.
